Ever since Nathan and I moved to Fayetteville there has been something called Cousins Night. When we moved to Fayetteville there were 7 cousins already living in Fayetteville. We added two more (but as soon as we moved to town, one moved out…CLARE). Cousins night is one of the most fun nights. I love getting together with all the cousins. All of these cousins are on Nathan’s side of the family. Specifically his dad’s side mostly. Well since we moved here some more have moved (Leslie and Preston moved to Little Rock but are now back! and Will and Leia moved to Mexico). Somewhere another family started joining cousins night. I am not really sure how, I guess they are just good friends with everyone. They have been a great addition. “They” would be the Baxter’s. Matt and Amelia with their son Boothe.
Last Monday night we had a cousins night at our house. Even though it was the day AFTER Cinco de Mayo we still had tacos. Let the mexican food carry on. I mean I could eat it every day, so no worries there. We finished up the meal with some Tres Leches Cake from The Pioneer Woman.
I forgot to take pictures at the beginning like I intended to. After we played outside and ate, and after the boys talked about chickens the kids wanted to go upstairs and play. So we did and it was a lot of fun all the parents and all the kids playing and talking in one room. Thankful for a big playroom.
- I wish I got family pictures or something! At least maybe a group of the kids, group of the girls, and a group of the boys. Oh well. There is always next time. We had a blast. I am thankful for each one of these people being part of my life. Also, since my family lives so far away in Texas (and most of my extended family not even in the DFW metroplex but in Waco) I am even more thankful for this family here, so close, so loving, and so FUN! Can’t wait until next cousins night. Hadley is already counting down the days!
