Mason Creek Farms

Today my MOPS group went to go visit Mason Creek Farms on the outskirts of Fayetteville.  Mason Creek Farms is a pig farm that also produces chicken eggs.  They are one of the two Animal Welfare Approved pig farms in Arkansas.  It is the nicest couple ever, Glenn and Rose that run the farm.  I often see Glen, the husband, at the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market or the Winter Market.  He is SOO nice!  He always remembers my kids and always has great tips on how to cook pork well.  We often buy his pork, it has great flavor and knowing how they raise their pigs is also great.  Today was the PERFECT day to go visit the farm.  BEAUTIFUL weather!

Today was a great experience for the mamas and for the kids.  I know the kids don’t understand that is where their food comes from (luckily) but for them to see how animals live, how other people live is a great lesson learned.  I also learned a lot as well, which I really enjoyed!  Thank you again Mason Creek Farms!

  1. It looks like you all had a great time! I wish more kids had some exposure to a farm. I grew up on a farm, and loved it and I know it really makes me aware of where my food comes from. What a great outing!
