This past week we had some amazing visitors come all the way to Fayetteville, Arkansas from Houston, Texas. That is one long trip they made! I feel so special that they drove all the way (10 hours people) to come visit us! Nathan’s cousin Justin and his wife Luann, and their twin boys Beckett and Eli all came up here. Last year I went to visit them along with my friend Megan in Houston. It was the first time I really got to spend time with Luann and the first time I got to meet the boys. Hadley and Eli and Beckett are only two weeks apart. They were actually born on my birthday so it was a lot of fun because our kids were so close in age, minus Noah, even though he thought he was a big boy after playing with these boys for a day.
The Riley clan arrived at our house Saturday afternoon right when our kids were waking up from their naps. All the kids had to get re-acquainted. I think Noah had the hardest time adjusting to new people taking over his house. He cried a lot this day. It didn’t really help that Saturday night the Phelan clan came over for dinner. It was a lot of fun, and I am sad that I did not get a picture of all these kids but it was a blast. Our house was destroyed but that is ok.
Sunday morning we headed to church.
After church the kids played on the one of the pigs in the Pigshibiton.
That night we had community group and the Riley family went and met up with some other friends.
Monday was CRAZY. Eli was sick and had to go to a walk-in clinic. We were trying to meet Nathan for lunch since he had in service and my sister in law, Leslie, mother in law, MaryJane, and nephew, Silas also came to town. When we went to meet Nathan we drive to three different restaurants before we found one that was open with no wait. CRAZY! It was Crackle Barrel. Luckily it had that store because I don’t think the 5 kids would have made it. It was waaaay past lunch time and nap time. We did make it through though and then rushed home for naps. After naps the kids played, upstairs mainly.
Tuesday morning we woke up and Hadley was now sick and we had to take her to the doctor. Luckily she wasn’t too bad and after a bit we were able to play. We had to get out of the house today. We headed to Boingo Bounce. I thought that would be a great place to get energy out. Well, by the time we got there it was later than I had wanted and it was packed! Usually when I go there it isn’t crowded but today was a different story. Not only was it crowded but there were boogers spread out all over that place. GROSS. We left, went home and carried on with our day.
Wednesday we woke up and had plans to get out of the house and have fun. No kids were sick and we were going to take advantage. We decided to go on up to Rogers and go to Fast Lanes. My kids have never been bowling and neither had Luann’s kids. We were really excited to take the kids bowling. They had a blast! Especially Beckett, he was the bowling KING. He loved it! I loved watching him love it. I mean, I loved watching my kids too. Even Noah got into it and loved pushing the ball. He tried picking it up often too but it was heavy!
After we bowled we ate and played games. Then we cashed in our tickets and left. It was past nap time but not by TOO much. Well Noah fell asleep on the way home but the big kids NEVER FELL ASLEEP. We thought they were worn out but when we got home and put them in their beds they were all too wired to go to bed! They LOVED that day, they we had a blast and loved spending time together! Luckily Noah slept at least. Finally we got all the big kids up and went outside to explore.
Wednesday night was our last night together. Our time with the Riley family flew by. Again, I feel so blessed to have had them come visit. It was truly amazing. Our kids LOVED each other. My kids were soo sad when they woke up Thursday and the Riley clan had left. It was a sad morning. Here are a few more pictures from the week.
I know Luann will get a blog post up about this week soon. I am sure she will go into more detail because she is great like that. Check her blog out.
